Canon Powershot Elph
How I can get good quality photos with Canon Elph Powershot SD 1100?
I have this camera and I use it every day, mainly on my daughter. However, I'm noticing my pictures look very amateur. I wonder if there are better options you can set the camera to take a better picture look more professional.
Good for you for recognizing that it is the photographer who takes better PIX, not the camera. Study online, try this: If http://www.geofflawrence.com/photography_tutorials.htm learn best in a group situation, look for a photography course in your area. Flickr.com has many Meetup groups that meet. Not only have lots of pix, but they share what they know about taking pix.

Changing the shutter speed of my Canon Powershot Digital Elph SD870IS?
I know that the shutter speed up to the Powershot 15 seconds, but I have no idea where to start, or how to change it. Ideas?
Yes, your User's Guide has all the answers … one option in the long shutter mode "that allows you to define the second shutter speeds between 1 and 15 … but not in the index User's Guide. Therefore, it is necessary to take a look at the function table in the back of the guide. It is the second element of the list and direct you to page 109. To access the slow shutter mode, you must first activate your line M-mode, then press the FUNC. SET button, then use Up / Down Select this option to + / -0, then press the DISP … then use the arrows on the side to adjust the shutter speed, FUNC.SET then press again. You, of course, need to mount your camera on a tripod for long exposures.
