What I can use to charge my camcorder / digital camera or laptop in the Philippines?

I'm traveling next week to the Philippines and I am bringing my handycam DCR-SR42 from Sony, Canon Powershot G6 camera and my laptop. I need to know what the charger / power adapter to buy. Thanks!

Check the label on the adapter. If it says 120 – 240V, then it must be good. Most wall outlets in the Philippines produce 240v and blow the fuse or the entire device if not qualified to support this capability. If the adapters are not compatible 240v, you will need a stepdown transformer that allows you to connect to a wall and produces output 240v 120v. If you can not find a place for your area, you will find a greater availability in the Philippines. If you need charge multiple devices at once, you must also bring or buy a strip bar. Do not connect these directly to a 240v outlet unless it is rated to work for that capacity. Unlike the typical plug interface in the U.S. with two parallel bars, some 240v outlets in the Philippines require an interface plug 2 holes parallel round. Go to your local radio shack or equivalent to buy these accessories. Good luck!

What is the format appropriate to take a photo of a CD cover of music?

With my digital camera, I like to compose a picture CD cover band a friend. So I know that the best way to compose the picture, what should I look for shooting an image that ends in a square format, compared with the wider aspect ratio of a more conventional photo printing? If it is of some value to know, I am using 7.0 MP Canon Powershot G-6.
