Canon Powershot G7
Please tell me some top digital camera models from around $ 400 – $ 500.?
Canon Powershot A640 is one of them? Please share experience. Which is better, Canon Powershot A640 or G7? Are there other models that I work best?
I own a digital SLR Nikon few and I'd buy the Canon Powershot A630 or A640 for me. These cameras have the highest 1/1.8 "(5.2 mm x 7.2 mm) sensor which is almost twice the size the sensor is in many point and shoot cameras that translate into better image quality. They allow fully automatic use or total user control and offer several stages in between. The only significant difference between these cameras is that the A630 is 8 MP and the A640 is 10 MP. If you spend up to $ 250, Canon Powershot out A630. My brother has had his A630 for about a year and is a very nice camera. You can get it at B & H Photo (available through Yahoo! Shopping) for $ 212. If you can go to $ 350, look at the 10 MP Canon Powershot A640. This is not a camera that can fit in a shirt pocket, but is an excellent camera. It sells for about of $ 300 and you can add a nice memory card for under $ 50. For any camera, purchase a 1 or 2 GB Ultra II or SanDisk Extreme III card. You will need increased capacity and write speed to fully realize the benefits of their camera. The Ultra II would be excellent, but if you're really in the video, it is possible prefer the faster Extreme III. These cards cost from about $ 25-45 in the B & H and several other outlets. It is understandable that the G7 is a camera "better." It zooms to 210 mm instead "only" 140 mm and has image stabilization. You get one more stop of ISO of the camera. I suggest you compare some sample images and see what you think. Http: / / www.steves-digicams.com/2006_reviews/g7.html Check out this comparison page. Click on "In-depth review" and "Read Owner Opinions "for each camera. Be sure to note that the reviews are many pages long so it does not stop after the first page. Check the sample images, too. After that, you can move the cursor over the image and become a magnifying glass. Click on it as a magnifier once and the image will be full size and can actually discuss the details or look for artifacts like purple fringing around elements in high contrast photos or noise in the darker areas of the image. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=canon_a640% 2Ccanon_g7 & show = all
