Harm to my camera?
I recently bought a Canon Powershot G9 digital camera online. When it came in today, I realized the memory card only has 32 mb of memory! I have been searching the web for a memory card compatible with my camera. I believe this one is designed for my camera. http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Flash-memory-card-512/dp/B0007YZ45A/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1201922139&sr=8-1
priced at $40. I searched on ebay for something similar and found http://cgi.ebay.com/SD-CARD-512MB-MEMORY-FOR-CANON-POWERSHOT-CAMERA-SD1000_W0QQitemZ140201305108QQihZ004QQcategoryZ103408QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQtrksidZp1638.m118.l1247QQcmdZViewItem#ShippingPayment
for $9 claiming to be okay for my camera. My question is whether I can trust it. Will the cheaper one damage my camera? What are some disadvantages of buying the 9$ one?
At present 1GB DS memory cards are selling for less than $15 in most electronics stores. Buy a couple of them and enjoy.
The only memory cards you should fear are the ones you purchase on the Internet. While they will not harm your camera, they may fail or become corrupted at the most inopportune moment
