Canon Powershot Memory Card Error Card Locked

My friend gave me his camera Canon Powershot A530, and says "Memory card error?

The map I'm using is a SanDisk Ultra II SDHC Card 4G. You tried to move the switch to the unlocked position, but the screen still shows "card locked "and" memory card error. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Elvis is right, the Canon A530 can not use SDHC SD only means that the camera can use cards up to 2GB capacity. Chris
