Canon Powershot New Model
Canon powershot A540 or Nikon coolpix L1or L5-which is good buy for home use?

i want a decent dig cam for home use.iam located in india.plz give reasons for choice and the order of preference.i also want the price to be less around INR 12000/-.(L5 is new model and priced more by a bit)

The L5 has a bit more zoom and it also has image stabilization, which is why ot costs more, I am sure. It’s got a bit more power in the flash, which might make a difference for kids birthday parties, etc.

The Canon seems to offer a lot more user control if you are interested in moving on beyond simply using a few “auto” modes and it also has an optical viewfinder.

Personally, I think I’d lean towards the Canon from your selections. It isn’t quite a “fancy” as the L5, but it is well-proven and it is an excellent camera.

I can’t stand it that cameras are doing away with the optical viewfinders!

If you do not have an optical viewfinder, I think you ought to look for image stabilization, because it’s harder to hold a camera still when it’s not braced against your face.

Canon Powershot s1200-IS or Nikon Coolpix (any new model) COME ON PPLZ ANSWERRRR!!!!?

I’m debating on whether getting the Canon or Nikon. I’ve read good and bad reviews on the Nikon and none on the Canon. The Nikon is cheaper and seems easier to use, but the Canon has better reviews and has a prettier color lol..I do like the Nikon’s “body style” or whatever…but anyways, what should I get???
