Canon Powershot Recalls
is this true : someone said that these two cameras are under a recall …?

someone answered my question and said that the canon powershot a560 and a570 are under a recall . is this true ??

That guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. The recall was from *2005* and it affected different cameras, and it was due to a Sony manufacturing problem affecting all manufacturers.

Here’s a link describing the different cameras affected:

http://worldcadaccess.typepad.com/s1is/2005/10/canon_recall_lo.html

Neither of those cameras are listed.

Here’s another more comprehensive link with the explanation:

I will give him the benefit of the doubt and say he probably mis-read the model numbers.

The Escali Cibo digital nutritional scale is a nice companion to have for those who need a better way to track the amount of food that you consume, especially if you’re counting calories and other ingredients. Please read on to see exactly how you can benefit from this scale.

Everyone is familiar with the typical bathroom scale that gives you a general number about how much you weigh. Not many people are aware that specialized scales are available for kitchen use as well. It’s important to have a kitchen scale to measure ingredients to ensure your dish turns out as expected, but modern digital scales are capable of so much more.

The Cibo scale will integrate nicely into your kitchen because of its small dimensions (8.5″ x 8″ x 2″) so it won’t clutter up your counter space. The real benefit however is the full featured list of measurements the Cibo is capable of. Just enter in one of 999 food types (already pre-programmed into the scale), weigh the item and the Cibo will calculate the estimated number of calories, sodium, protein, fat, carbs, cholesterol and fiber.

The large digital display and push button design is easy to use. This scale is also capable of saving up to 99 previous measurements for fast recall later on. It’s battery powered so there is no need to worry about tying up outlets in your kitchen or having wires get in your way. The auto shut-off feature will also help to prevent battery drainage if the scale is left turned on by accident.

With a capacity to weigh items up to 6.6 lbs, the Cibo should be able to handle most of the food items you use on a regular basis. You also have the option to display weight in ounces, pounds + ounces, grams and kilograms. The measurement increments are as low as.1 oz or 1 gram.

The Cibo scale is a nice little companion for those who are watching your weight, counting calories, are on a low sodium diet, or need to watch your cholesterol intake.

My canon powershot sx120is wont turn on?

Nothing happend to it,i havent even had it for a hole year and it just wont turn on,i didnt drop it or anything.
i already tried putting in new batteries and plugging it to the computer its not responding at all
would anyone happen to have information on a recall or just have any ideas on how to fix it.
Thanks.

From doing some quick reading regarding your camera, it appears the camera is a real power hog.
Assuming left it in extremely cold or hot temperatures, I would suggest purchasing and trying two FRESH double A LITHIUM batteries.

Should Lithium batteries not power up the camera, call Canon and advise them of the issue. I have consistently found their support to be most helpful and informative.
