My laptop is not picking up my camera?

I have a Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS Digital ELPH. Always worked for me before, but I tried to upload pictures to my computer (Windows 7), but not collected. I installed it, checked all my USB ports, controlled, switched on (as we suppose), and restart the computer. nothing has helped. Can anyone help? I do not want to spend money, so if you could find a cheap way would be appreciated (:

Try using a card reader which is preferred by most all used whenever you want to download the pictures on the computer. Card readers can be found in many stores like Best Buy, Target Shack, Wal-Mart, Radio and not too expensive. Simply plug the external card reader. Remove the memory card from the camera. Insert the memory card in the external card reader, then start the download, it's that simple. In addition, the computer will automatically recognize the card reader almost nothing flat and can be used in many different computers.
