Overexposure is a term often discussed in photography. What does this mean?

In a word, is when too much light is allowed reach the sensor and the resultant image is too "light" or "brilliant".

Why is it?

For a decent picture, the camera must choose a combination of aperture (the size of the hole in the lens that allows light) and shutter speed (The time it is exposed to the light sensor when you take a picture).

In general, the device selects the right combination. Sometimes the camera makes a misjudgment of the scene before him or the photographer to choose the values that are not ideal.

If this occurs, Too much light can enter the camera and strikes the sensor, resulting in overexposure. The white "or" exceptional "and burned too light. All details in these areas tend to get lost.

The cure is to take the photo and select a lower exposure using a smaller aperture or shutter speed longer. This can be done manually by the photographer or automatically by the camera with ease of "automatic exposure compensation." Read the manual to find out.

His images may be overexposed if there are many low light in the scene you shoot the camera tries to compensate for the low light levels mean increased light reaching the sensor. You can also use the flash, especially the flash integrated in national pacts and lower end prosumer / SLR can cause overexposure and "money" issues. In these cases, try to compensate with the camera.
