I've compared specs, reviews and ratings. There really is no difference in performance and feature termss. Basically both fair implementation of the mill car launches n all times. A good picture and features, but nothing extraordinary. If my choice were only these two I would go for the SD780 simply because he still has an optical viewfinder. Display and composition of subjects on an LCD screen in bright sunlight is often difficult, so I like having the option of optical viewfinder. Personally pocket savings in cash and go with the A1100 IS Canon on any of these two. specs similar performance to a much lower price.
