Canon Powershot Sd970 Is
How long should my camera record for?
I have a Canon PowerShot SD970 IS digital camera and I currently have a wireless memory card that holds about 15 seconds of video at a time. I tried using my one 1GB memory card (not wireless) and it allows me to have about 3 minutes of video recording on my digital camera but I am looking for at least 10 minutes for recording. I am planning on buying an 8GB memory card (not wireless) and am curious roughly how many minutes of video recording I should get. I am by no means a camera guru and have no clue how to understand camera talk so if you happen to know please help! Thanks!
Most still camera companies restrict the amount of time that a user can shoot a continuous shot. This is a built-in safety feature to prevent overheating of the cameras sensor.
If you work on your script and block out short segments (like they do in the movies), you should be able to produce fine video without damaging your cameras sensor
Call Canon at OK-CANON
They will be able to help you I am sure

Which camera is better? Canon Powershot SD970 or Canon Powershot S90?
Powershot S90 has a good low light feature, which is a HUGE plus for me, but the SD970 has continuous shot mode, HD video (which I don’t need but it’s a pretty cool feature). I heard the S90 is a good camera to transition to a DSLR. If anybody has the SD970, can you tell me if it has a good low light feature? I think i’m leaning towards the S90, but I would like more information on both, from actual people who own and use them. Thanks!
I would recommend you Canon Powershot S90
