Canon Powershot Sd990is
Canon Powershot vs SD970is SD990is – which is best?

I'm going on trip soon and want a small camcorder (which can fit in your wallet, pocket) that produces images of quality. I will purchase it from Costco, but I'm not sure that "Point & Shoot" model to get. Me feel like the Canon Powershot might be the best camera out of the bunch (though I can be wrong – I know nothing about photography). I think I'm torn between two models different this time – the Canon Powershot SD990is and SD970is. Does anyone have any idea what could be the best camera? I do not see too much of a difference between the two, other than what 14.7megapixels 990is and 970is with 12.1. Thank you very much!

The SD990 SD970 in late within the image resolution (14.7 vs 12.1 megapixels) and manual mode. However, the SD970 has some features that the 990 lacks. First, it has a little bit larger image sensor so that image quality is slightly better. Secondly, it has more optical zoom (3.7 x 5 x vs). Third, your LCD has higher resolution (461,000 pixels compared to 230,000). Finally, you can capture high-definition movies. About the size, they have almost the same dimension. (WxHxD) 3.73 x 2.24 x 1.04 inches – 970 (WxHxD) 3.81 x 2.45 x 1.10 inches – 990 If I were you, I'd go with the SD970. Unfortunately, the SD970 is more expensive. PS.
