I wonder what their opinions are, I'll buy a camera and I have to 2 options: a Canon …?

Powershot SX10 IS-IS or a Nikon D40. I have a Minolta SRT100 I love to shoot and I have 2 lenses for this. I have a point and shoot Kodak that I'm playing. This camera is the one I choose if he wanted a P & S. I saw him in action – one of my students in my photography class we had.
