I am thinking of buying a Canon PowerShot SX20 IS or Nikon D90? What best for fashion photography cameras? How alternative? Thank you and the cost of equipment!

You can forget about using one of P & S camera work for any serious way. I use a Nikon D300 and D3 of my way to work. I have colleagues who use the Nikon D70 and D90 when shooting fashion.
