Canon Powershot sx20 IS question?

I was wondering how you do the shutter speed on the Canon Powershot sx20 IS? Like the shutter speed in SLR cameras I see. This camera can do the same,right? I’ve had this camera since February and I still don’t know how to do so. And my computer won’t allow CD Roms for some reason and I can’t use the manual that came with it on the CD Rom. Help me figure it out?

On the Canon mode dial the setting for shutter priority is marked “Tv”.

Canon Powershot SX20 IS – problem with focusing?

Before you guys tell me to read my manual – yes, I DID read it. However, it didn’t really solve my problem.
I recently got the Canon Powershot SX20 IS, 5 days ago actually. I think it’s a pretty good camera, but I’m having trouble with it focusing indoors. When I’m outside in the sunlight, it focuses fine whenever I zoom in on whichever mode. But I noticed that when I’m taking a picture indoors, it doesn’t focus at all, and instead produces a very blurry image. I’ve adjusted the aperture, pressed the shutter button halfway.. even when I put it on macro and zoom in, it’s still blurry! Help? :/

maybe it has adhd, ive heard that affects ability to focus
