Canon Powershot Sx200 Is Digital Camera Price
Should i charge for taking photos?

I am 17 & love taking photos & am looking into a photography career after college, thinking towards animal photography. At the moment i do not have a dslr, but a canon powershot sx200 is, which i love and bought myself out of my own money which i had been saving. I find it is better than a regular digital camera but obviously not up to dslr standard.
I take loads of photos of my friends and their horses each week at the stables, and they always say they love them and ask me to bring my camera down with me.
Could i start charging, if they were willing to pay? and how much? i might look in to getting some printed, depending on price.
I am looking for a part time job but in my area there aren’t any at the moment so i thought this could be a way of earning a little money

oh, and i am saving up for a dslr :)

By all means try.
If your pictures are good enough that people are willing to pay for them then it does not matter what camera or what mode you shoot them on.
If you are dishing out photos to people then they should at least pay your costs.

you will probably find though that as soon as you start asking for money that people suddenly don’t think they are that good anymore.
