How do I get rid of the "communication error" on my Canon?

I have a Powershot SX200 and a SDHC memory card 8GB and a few days ago I connected the camera to the computer and for some reason when I put in review mode on this occasion, the camera does not connect, and I said that in the bottom of the screen there was a "miscommunication." And now every time I try to connect it still does not work. Yes, I have an idea. SD HC cards love to fail without notice this is probably what happened to yours. One way to test this is to try to format the camera.
