Photography questions? PLEASE HELP!?
Definitely would not be able to call an amateur photographer but I'm still fairly new I guess. I have a Canon EOS Rebel XTI and a Canon Powershot SX200. I was wondering if someone could give me tips or tricks I could do with my camera? Really want to be a serious photographer and not just a lame poser. Are you paid to take the picture? If not, then by definition you are an amateur. Amateur does not mean beginner, means not just a professional. So yeah, you're an amateur. Now your photos … Two biggest things I noticed immediately: (Note: To be taken seriously to photography, you should NEVER do these things) 1. crooked horizons. rule of photography Landscape # 1, the horizon must always be rectum. Always. (Http: / / TranslucentMinds.deviantart.com/art/Lazy-Days-144065254) 2. Never, ever Colorsplash use. Child is looking, and not taken seriously by anyone is more than 17 years. Photo may be color. They can be B & W. They may even be several shades of brown (careful though, it is overstated way.) But it can not be half and half. (Http: / / TranslucentMinds.deviantart.com/art/Different-143980175) Now a pet peeve of my own … is "in" I understand. But we live in 2009 with high-quality digital cameras and high-quality computer editing software quality. No need of photos to not be color-corrected. You're not fooling think anyone who took the photo 30 years ago, so might as well color corrected. You need to work on the composition and lighting. Not close to me as particularly close to any of your photos. Tips and tricks? Read the manual. Take a photography class.

I am a novice photographer same, but I do my best to learn new tricks and tips that you can start taking amazing photos. I have a Canon PowerShot S5 IS. I've been through my camera and book yourself and I can not do it! Has anyone advice on what I have to do? All help is greatly appreciated! 
Will not happen with the Canon S5 camera that you will not be able to control depth of field (area inside and outside clear focus) with the camera. However, you can use some Photoshop techniques after taking the picture to the background blur.
