What camera should I buy now?

I recently bought a Nikon D40. I love it. But I'm looking to add a small travel camera you have really good video capability. I want to take snapshots large but should be a video camera is also powerful. It should also be less $ 350. The Canon PowerShot TX1 is exactly what I'm looking for, but has gotten mixed reviews. Any alternatives? The good video recording capability is important to me.
