What is a durable good superzoom / camera image quality.?

Hello, I want to spend a very basic point and shoot camera something with better pictures. I do not want to bother with different objectives and I think I'll stay under DSLR. I looked at the Canon Powershot SX30 and thought it was a winner for me, but I have a major problem I'm having trouble finding the millions of comments I read. I want a super zoom is very good quality photos, but can take a beating. I'll probably take the camera snowboard to take you with me sustainability and action a necessity. You will probably see time on the beach for surfing too many shots. More waterproof-ing help but not necessary. I heard the Olympus SP800 meets these requirements, but am not sure about the quality of the image. I think if I read a critique my brain will explode. All opinions are welcome.
