Canon Powershot Zoom Lens
adding a teleconverter lens to a canon powershot A720 IS?
I want to add the available teleconverter lens to be able to take close up photos of things very far away. The camera is already 6 x optical zoom but I want more zoom for far away objects.
“The lens changes the focal lenght of the camera body’s lens by a factor of 1.75x (the thread diameter is 58mm)”. I have no idea what this means. If you know about cameras, can you tell me how much closer this will make far away objects?
I am buying this lens because I dont want to buy a whole new camera.
a naked eye lens is 50mm, which is 1.0 FL, 58mm should focus 1 3/4 times as far as your eye would focus. Make sure to attach the teleconverter to the camera lens, then you can add other lenses or color filters.
Teleconverters were originally made for use with telescopes, I recommend a Meade 4in for Moon close-ups and neighbor watching

I don’t know if you need the adapter to mount the lens or not, but it looks like you do.
