why cannot i upload pictures to my pc from my Canon PowerShot S100?

my laptop has windows vista and my camera is an older version and when I try upload photos to my laptop says that "there was an error loading tryimg ZoomBrowser EX PLAESE sure it is properly installed", but put installed the cd and evrything.

Why not use your computer skills and put your memory card into a card reader and then just copy image files to your computer … leave the camera outside.
