What camera is better the canon power shot SD770 IS or the SD790?
The only thing I see thats different is the lcd screen. Does the 790 beat the 770 cause its higher?? or what do the numbers represent? thanks!!

Features
The PowerShot SD780 IS has evolved from its earlier version SD770 IS. Its resolution has increased from 10 megapixels (in the earlier version) to 12. The new one has a wider lens and has the ability for capturing movies in HD (High Definition). The camera is 3.4 inches wide and 2.2 inches high and has a depth of 0.7 inch. With the media and battery, it weighs a surprising 4.7 ounces. It has 2.5 inch pure color LCD II screen, 230K dots and also an optical viewfinder. It has 3x optical zoom with Optical Image Stabilization and has a focal length of 33mm to 100mm. It accepts JPEG and MOV (still and video) file formats. The lifespan of the battery is suggested to last for 210 shots.
The additional features of this camera include: Face and motion detection, Blink Detection Technology, SmartAuto and 720p HD movie mode with built in HDMI connector in order to view photos and videos on HDTV. There are three shooting modes: SmartAuto, Program, Scene/Movie and the camera has a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery.

Although, the build of PowerShot SD780 IS is small and sleek, it is quite sturdy and durable. For the petite size that it is, it is a very impressive camera. The photo and video quality is quite good. The presence of DIGIC IV processor has the ability to track faces within a specific frame and provide priority in focus and exposure. This helps in allowing the photographer to join the group for a photo.
Negatives
The viewfinder in the PowerShot SD780 IS is supposedly not so effective owing to the diminutive size of the camera. Since the controls are flat and merge with the body, using the four directional pad and the center button is considered to be slightly difficult. This may lead to wrong presses and getting wrong results. The performance of the optical zoom while recording is not considered effective. The audio quality is not so impressive.

i’m looking for a new digital camera. my friends suggested canon but still i have no idea which model is right for me.

canon sd770
i don’t really know what’s the difference between these models

Check out the comparison of all four. You will find that they are quite similar cameras. However, There are a few major things to consider…
SD850 is the only one with a view finder.
The button layouts and designs are varied a little, so try them out in a store to see whether or not you are comfortable with their design.
If you are still confused, speak to a salesperson. If they cannot give you a good, valid reason to choose one over the other, buy the cheapest one!!
