Mostly small digital camera can give me that?

I currently have a Canon PowerShot SD890 IS: i http://www.canon.ca/english/index-products.asp?lng=en&prodid=1314&sgid=23&gid=2&ovr=1 I recently discovered that I am not able to achieve this effect in my camera: http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/8171/bluryybgmz6.jpg (the backgrounf blurred and the person or object on the front very light) the only way I can get this effect with a macro. I would be able to get this effect in a camera as much as I Simal. Does anyone know this is a camera and Simal as I have, I can give this effect: http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/8171/bluryybgmz6.jpg

A digital SLR probably used to this move. But to get the same (or close this effect – at least), you can use a digital camera with manual controls … one who can set the aperture and shutter speed accordingly. Canon PowerShot S3is/S5is series and the series (G5, G6, G7, G, G9) can give the same effect.
