Share your favorite Canon SLR Lens!?

I have a Canon Rebel XTI with the kit lens and also shares the goal of 50 mm f/1.8 prime. Looking to get another. What do you recommend? Thanks! =)

I use the Canon 17-85mm on my 30D and love it. It is the goal that he always chooses first. The ultra wide is important in a digital camera that is Full Frame, as it is difficult to shoot indoors without it. Mike

Canon SLR lens question ….?

Hello, I wonder if the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS telephoto III also good for portraits. If the lens has good lighting and depth of field? Thank you and please if you can provide links to photos so that I can see how it happen? Thank you! I use Canon XTi *** ** My plan is to use it for multiple purposes, such as portraits, landscapes, macro and Thanks!

The 75-300mm can work for portraits, but the image quality is not great. It is a cheap goal and it shows. Personally I prefer to take one of the most fertile economic objectives. A cousin may also provide a depth of field much shallower, if you want too. The EF 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM is a bit shaper, provides better contrast and adds stability to the image pictures freehand shutter speeds slower. Af/4-5.6 what is the depth of field that can still be open enough to insulate the surface of the object background. For what it's worth, I had this goal until one week earlier. I really liked and the only reason I sold it to fund a Passage USM EF 70-200mm f/2.8L. I mention only or prime focus lenses. If you are looking in the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS III to stay in a budget and only goal for the portraits, I think you'll have better results with a prime number. The "clever-fifty, EF 50mm F1.8 II (approx. $ 100) and 85 mm f/1.8 USM EF (approx. $ 380) lenses are big picture for SLR. With its wide opening, can provide a depth of field much shallower than what is possible with any zoom covers focal lengths from it.
