Canon Telephoto
What is the best Canon telephoto and macro lens?
I bought a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi and want to go all out and buy a large lens. I want super amazing macro and telephoto so you can get amazing photos of flowers and insects and things like the moon or other things that happen to be more away. Is there a goal? If not, what would be the best macro and telephoto (separately)?
Sorry, we do it all in one lens. Me would like to save my money and get only 100 mm f/2.8 mentioned above. Qualifies as telephoto and macro is great for work and portraiture. I have the 70-200 mm f/2.8 as well, but I do not think it's appropriate for what you do. It's expensive and it seems that you are looking for a telephoto lens "super" lens. You would sadly disappointed with your fingertips. Even a target of 100 mm f / 5.6-300mm would give more scope – a quarter of the price. No offense, but if the photos do not look good – It is very likely due to their actions against the quality of the glass. The glamor of TV is VERY COMMON super and is usually of short duration. You will soon realize that it is impractical to most of the time, very heavy, and will need to be on a tripod in most conditions unless the sun without clouds. The only other commitment I can think of is to buy the lens f / 3.5 L of 180 mm. A little more affordable, but much more expensive and being a final compromise on the super telephoto. If the budget is not a problem, I still opt for the 100mm f/2.8 for macro, and a lens of 600 mm f/4L IS ($ 7,000). If that is too steep, the 400mm f/5.6L IS ($ 1400). The variety of uses for this lens is less than the 70-200 with a 2x converter – but much easier to work with. I have the f/2.8 70-200 L and 2x converter – the quality is lacking and which is quite cumbersome to use. A final note. Prior to releasing some serious money on an expensive lens, go out and rent it for one day. Macros can range from about $ 10 – $ 25/day, and rental of Super telephoto lens can vary from about $ 75 – $ 150/day, but some shops apply it as a purchase, if you choose. I did exactly is the first time that photography started years ago. It took one day to realize just how difficult it was to use a super telephoto (and only one was 300 mm f / 2.8 L). Good luck!
