What Canon digital SLR camera should I get?

I was trying to decide which camera i should get, or canon xsi canon T1i. I really do not need video capabilities but I am destined for better image quality. I will probably most likely use on a trip next year and photos are landscapes and structures. What I suggest and why? Also, what lenses (this is not too expensive) we suggest you start with in addition to those included in the kit? I'm a novice photographer and from a point and shoot. Thanks!

That would have the Canon Rebel XS EOS Rebel XS 10MP DSLR Digital Camera 18-55mm IS Lens which costs about $ 449. I know it's a kit lens, but Canon makes photo-quality equipment and lens are a good way to start then shoot, learn to use the camera and what other items you need, and what other lenses. Some people would add a telephoto zoom, as a 55-200mm zoom to match the 18-55mm to provide a long-range wide-angle 18mm (28mm equivalent in 35mm film camera lens) to 200mm telephoto (equivalent to 300mm on a 35mm camera lenses film).
