Buying or lentils imported U.S. B & H Photo?

I live in Canada, and from what I understand, the purchase of imported lenses you do not receive a guarantee. I do not know anything to buy because I'm looking at the Canon 50mm f/1.4 and the amount is $ 10 cheaper. That should I buy the imported version and the version for the U.S.?

I hate extended warranties, but this is not an extended warranty. What if the product is Defective sent you and how much can you lose? This is not the place to be cheap, buy the objective of the United States. Remember with digital, is not wasting money on film and processing before they can see their pictures, so why not spend some of the savings in a good location?
