Is work getting a cheapish digital SLR camera with a "good" lens, and buy a better lens later? ?
I want to get a digital SLR camera. I was thinking about getting a Nikon D60 complete with a lens 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G (for 295), or a Canon EOS 100-D IS 1918-1955 with a target (for £ 325) Would it be worth getting either of the camera and get a more expensive lens later? Does anyone have any experiance with these cameras and different lenses? Just to add, the kind of photos would be having to include sports and portraits. Sport being the most impotant one of them. Anyone recommmend good lenses for it?

SLR should I expect??
I'll buy a camera, but I do not know where to get … I want a Canon digital SLR, perhaps, Perhaps Nikon? You see I have a Nikon (ASA F2), but the film works perfectly, but I want digital. I was thinking of doing a digital Canon EOS 30D but I know that some older Nikon lenses can be mounted in the latest digital SLRs. if mine would work with the new Nikon i should be much better because I have about 3 or 4 lenses, but for some reason you want to belive the 30D will be much better than say a Nikon D80, I would like to know what … I get, If you disagree with my choice, I'd be happy to hear your views on what I need to get. Oh yes, I taking classes so they already know how to use cameras just tell me what camera would best please thank you:)
Get the Nikon … there is no reason to replace all your Nikon lenses. There is no reason to assume that Canon is better than a Nikon … both are used by professionals. All my lenses much manual work (my digital SLR Nikon D100 and D200, and soon a D3) camera in manual mode (some over 25 years and was became the avian influenza (automatic indexing) for about $ 25 each).
