canon 5d mark ii for short film?
I am planning to shoot a short film with the canon eos 5d mark ii. Can anyone please tell me what the battery life of the 5d is and for those who have experience making films with the 5d, how many spare batteries should I have in order to make a film?
And would 16gb memory be enough to shoot couple hours of 1080 footages?
Just got to jump in & correct Jim’s misconceptions – actually the Canon 5d was used to shoot the season finale of ‘House’, so the use of a DSLR video capability has been proven in the ‘film’ industry.

Questioning a company selling pro camera’s super cheap?
I am wanting to buy a NEW pro camera and I’m looking a Canon EOS 5D Mark II. I stumbled upon this site along with other sites that are selling this camera super cheap. I’ve looked on bestbuy, amazon, and ebay etc. and these cameras seem to run about $3000 with the kit lens and about $2300 just the body. On this site for $1700 you get the camera, an 18-200 mm lens, tripod, memory card, and bogo battery. I’m a little suspecious. How are they making their money if they are legit? Is this probably too good to be true? I’m new to photography and have only bought one camera so I don’t know about this. I really want a good deal but I’m afraid of getting taken. Thanks! BTW the sites I’ve been looking at are versadeals.com and digital hunter. There are a few more but I noticed the sites look a lot like the versadeals site. Another reason I’m skeptical.
DON’T BUY FROM THIS SITE!!!!!! Way too cheap to be true. Plus if you look at the price of the kit lens and 5d mk II body it’s $3600. The lens is not the same price as the 5d mark ii anywhere. This lens is around half the price of the canon 5d mark II. Furthermore there is another offer where you get the 16-35mm canon lens and the 70-300mm DO lens and 5d mkii for $3600. These lenses are far more expensive than that and for the same price as the previous offer..no way. Also nowhere sells new canon 30Ds anymore or even 40Ds. They are out of production. Even where 5d mk ii’s are made the are 1500 euro (hong Kong). They are selling them at 1100 euro.
I’m not from the US but i can assure you probably have to pay by western Union so you can’t get your money back whatsoever.
