450D/XSi to upgrade from a 5D?

Well, I have an EOS 450D or XSi, and want to upgrade to the 5D MKII. Apparently you can not use EF-S on full frame cameras. Would I then have to sell my EF-S today? Would it be wiser just to upgrade to a 50D?

The jump 5D MK II to the 450D is a great leap, but certainly good, I currently own a 40D and am considering a 5D II later this year. You're right about the objectives EF-S is not compatible with full frame bodies. This is a pity that there are some great EF-S lenses available (10-22mm / 17-55mm 2.8, etc.) Moreover, the organs camera, as they are aware and do not lose their value quickly in the second hand market. Lenses on the contrary hold their value well and you sell (provided are in good condition) for pretty close to what you paid for them. Before moving to full-body structure, consider what type of photography you do. If comes to sports or wildlife then you can consider 40D/50D. Cameras are very fast (6f / s) have the crop factor with lenses for extra reach and are ideal for these types of photography. Furthermore full-frame bodies are slightly better for fashion photography, working in low light and landscapes. Consider what you want to use it for before you leap and buy the body on the side.

Should I sell my Canon D80?

Currently I have a D80, but was wondering if it's worth switching to a Canon EOS 40D or 5D (even It's a stretch if monetry). I have always had rights and prefer, but I am in two minds whether to spend only the money in a better lens for my D80. I'm studying photography at university and most of my colleagues, though, so I am not able to change lenses or borrow, it would be very useful.

If the Nikon D80 is a continuation from Nikon to Canon is not an update.
