What is better a digital SLR for a beginner?

What is better a digital SLR for a beginner? I have been reviewing the two chambers digital SLR (Canon EOS 7D is better or Nikon D90). I am willing to spend up to $ 1,500

Both are excellent cameras but I would save the money and get the D90 and lens of Nice. In fact, if I were you, I also check out the Nikon D5000. Below is a link to DxO Labs sensors rates of the camera and is a page that compares the Canon 7D, Nikon D90 and Nikon D5000 and you see the D90 is a higher score than the 7D, but basically the same ranks D5000 and cost much less. I am really in need of a good camera for this summer I do not think I'm ready to pay 1500 for Canon 7D, but is there something else that is a good quality for a reasonable price? I thought the Canon EOS Rebel XSi 12.2 Megapixel Digital SLR Camera What kind of camera do you have? Currently I have a Sony Cyber-shot bit, but I need something better
