Eos 7d Test
Need help choosing camera for filming during world trip!?

Are there any filmmakers here who could help me out?
So.. Im gonna do a 10 month world trip and plan to do a short documentary about this trip!
I want it to look as professional as possible. but there is one thing im concerned about:
Space!
Cameras, Lenses.. I’m gonna need a lot of space, but I dont wanna compromise video quality in order to get smaller equipment
I thought it would be a good idea to buy a canon eos 7d digital camera, I was impressed with some video tests I saw on youtube… for a digital camera
However, I also consider buying a proper video camera
canon XF300, canon XH-A1s 3CCD, Sony HDR-FX7 etc. (they are bigger,not VERY much bigger but bigger than canon eos 7d!)

While the Sony is a fine camera and has a three sensor system, the fact that is uses proprietary memory (Memory Stick), puts it out of the running

Of the two Canon’s the XH-A1 is the only one with 3 CCD’s CCD’s are still the preferred sensor for shooting video.

Since your budget seems to be just under $7,000, take a look at one of these cameras as well.

I say this because most of the pro shooters at the basketball and football events I cover use Panasonic video cameras
