Pictures with a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi?

I just got a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi for Christmas from my husband. I have not used much since then, but I want to take some pictures of myself and him. Also pictures of our children. Is the objective to be included with the camera be sufficient for the task? I will be using the timer. Or should I can invest in a better lens? Note: I am definitely an armature

I use the "competitor" brand but I can say that (a) it is a good camera, and (b) yes, the kit lens is actually enough for what you want (and make it much more once you discover many uses and characteristics). What you may want to invest in a tripod is good for when you set the camera in "timer" to include himself, or when you are making a family group so you can relax as you, directly or group of items and you will not have to compose and recompose image continuously (through the viewfinder, the small area to look through the LCD screen or in the back of the camera). B & H has a strong nice tripod and costs about $ 29.95 it is the Sunpak 7001DX model (also comes with a free carrying bag and two quick release plates). You can opt for the more robust and a little more expensive 3002DX ($ 44.95). No need to buy a $ 250-300 $ carbon fiber tripod for just taking pictures family and self, really. Please read the instruction manual and have your camera with you so you can refer to it while reading. Over time, you may want obtain a more powerful flash that attaches to the shoe on the top of the chamber, which built in flash is not as strong for large groups or for more than 5-6 feet. Good luck and best wishes!

If you used a Point and Shoot camera for many years, the jump to SLR photography can be a little intimidating. There are two reasons for this. Number one is the cost of SLR photography. Normally, to get a good camera and the target cost can go up to over $ 1,000. If have been using a point and shoot many years, you may remember that once cost a little and the price has dropped. In Furthermore, take digital SLRs.

The Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi camera in particular, and the Rebel line, in general, has been one devices the most popular entry-level SLR in recent years. The XTi is known as an entry-level device, but carries the stigma is entry level. Characterized by its excellent image quality and easy to use, offers a good value.

Stay is less than $ 1,000 should not be a problem with the purchase of a single body or the kit. I saw the price $ 400 – $ 600 the camera and sometimes play. If you feel comfortable with the purchase of the single currency, I suggest a better lens that comes in the kit. This objective is a 18-55mm. A lens that would give every day is the versatile 17-85mm. To this end, you should be able to get the $ 1,000 budget.

Find a good camera, every day that you can do what you want in the photo may be a time of consumer research. The Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi camera offers an unbeatable combination of performance, ease of use and great value.

What zoom 'I can buy a digital camera Canon EOS Rebel XTi?

I'm looking for a goal that can capture a greater distance but not too big and heavy. Thank you.

I am not a user of Canon, I can not name a specific goal but it seems that you could use a visual aid to help you know this had been achieved so far. Here is a mini-tutorial I made to compare focal lengths. This is a test of the lens or camera test! It simply aims to show the difference between the different focal lengths. The objective was Nikon 18-200 VR, which is (by definition) an 11X lens, 11X, but that does not mean that the final image will look like. I added a picture taken with a 300 mm lens. The camera was a Nikon D200 and it is 1.5 X "Crop factor" factor "lens" or "multiplier lenses. Your XTi has a crop factor of 1.6 times, so that tutorial will be valid for you too, because it is very nearly the same thing. There is an explanation Details of the image itself. It would be nice if you click on "All sizes" above the image.
