Information on SLR cameras, manual vs digital? Canon vs Nikon? please help me?

I'm starting to take photography seriously and I really appreciate some advice from people who know very well the SLR cameras. I've been in and look cool website in comments to the cameras to compare. I would like both a canon or a nikon, and I'm trying to decide between manual vs digital. I want to be able to capture images of virtually anything, and I'm looking very quality high. tops $ 1,000. please give me as much information as possible, we appreciate it. thanks:)

For "manual" I'm assuming that means the film. There are plenty of advantages to digital cameras as I am sure you are aware of the fees, processing, printing only what you want to print, simply to remove those who do not want all those things and more. All these recommendations are the camera above consideration good and worthwhile. If you have in many places web that has done much research and that's a good thing. Most of us regularly recommend Canon or Nikon, and also recommend the purchase of all the camera can pay. Be especially cautious about the selection of the target. A good lens is the most important part of any digital SLR.
