Second Hand Canon Lenses Uk
Wanting to buy a Canon 5D. Best deals?

The best value I can find is on ebay, an American camera store selling the body, 3 official canon lenses and lots of extras (bags, tripos, memory cards etc) for £1,200. I’m a bit unsure of getting such expensive items shipped from US though and will probably face excess customs charges on top of postage. Does anyone know of anywhere within the UK that does good deals on the 5d? I don’t mind it being second hand as long as it’s in good condition. Thanks.

You are in the UK. Extremely sound advice…. Never buy a Canon brand (Nikon either) from the US. In your country, buying USA warranty would be like someone from the US buying a European model camera. The problem being that the camera would not be warrantied and you could not get it repaired. In the case of here in the US, Canon and Nikon won’t even look at them should you send one in for evaluation and I would assume it is the same in Europe. Try looking for one there. I would not completely dismiss eBay Europe. Just closely check the sellers’ feedbacks and make sure they have plenty of happy customers. You are going to love the Canon 5D.

For relatively new photographers and digital slr owners it can be confusing when it comes to upgrading your kit lens. There are so many different lenses on the market covering a vast number of focal ranges and apertures that it can be very confusing to work out exactly which one you need.

This article will talk about what kind of things you should consider and will point you in the direction of one option that is little discussed about but has long been proved to be one of the best lenses out there as well as one of the cheapest!

You have so many decisions to make when trying to decide which lens to spend you money on. In my opinion the main thing you should look for in a lens is a wide aperture (or a low f number). A wide aperture give your two main benefits: firstly it lets a lot of light into the camera allowing you to take great shots in low light conditions without having to use the flash and secondly it lets you shoot with a cery shallow depth of field. A shallow depth of field lets you blur out backgrounds making close up or portrait shots stand out more and seem sharper.

Personally I feel that too many people place too much emphasis on aesthetics and certainly too much on zoom. After all why buy a lens with a huge zoom when you can zoom with your feet. OK  some specialist photographers require a zoom (say for photographing tigers) however I would much rather get a higher quality lens with less zoom than the other way round.

In my opinion the best bet for a kit lens upgrade is the Canon 50mm f1.8. It is the cheapest lens Canon sell, the worst built, the lightest, the noisiest to focus but the optics inside produce absolutely stunning results.

Few question, need help please:)?

Hello, I'm rolling with a Lumix G-10 with standard Lens14-42mm, but I am seeking to improve the capture of the lens that would be appropriate for the sport, I am unfortunately on a budget for lenses from Panasonic seems a bit expensive for what was thought of buying a lens mount adapter Maybe, but certainly would not be cannon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fotodiox-Adapter-Thirds- Olympus-Panasonic/dp/B003EAXT5G/ref = sr_1_1 ? ie = UTF8 & qid = 1296930782 & sr = 8 -1 asked some really 1. If the lens mount adapters good? 2. What a good goal zooooom relatively cheap (it is not necessary canonical consider buying a different mount) 3. A Tamron lens adapter install Frame gun? 4. what is a good place / website to buy second hand Thanks a lot Lens)

Canon EF is an absurd system to adapt, because EOS is a fully electronic system only controlled by the camera body, you do not get control of the opening of it all. The same problem exists for the G-type Nikon, Sony / Minolta Alpha mount, Sony E-mounting and mounting Pentax KAF2 KAF2/crippled. You're probably the best adaptation of one of the following Nikon F mount (AI and D-type AF), Olympus OM, Pentax K (with aperture control), Four Thirds M42, Minolta MD, Leica R, Leica M (including lenses made by Carl Zeiss and Voigtlander) Contax and Yashica /. You could probably get adapters for the B-mount, and Exakta mounts too. To answer your question: 1) the adapters work well, the MFT is mounting an objective very versatile. It is just that the operation of glasses cause problems electronics. 2) inexpensive zooms are almost all crap, especially if you're looking for more aperture lenses if needed mechanical adaptation. It is best to look decent M39 M42 lenses. There are a ton of rangefinder lenses very interesting there. 3) If an objective lens with a Tamron Canon Canon adapter fitting assembly. The same problem with the electronics though. 4) I have a lot of material used on eBay, but be able to recognize a lemon. I probably take a look here: http://www.ukcamera.com/usedcams/index.htm
