Sigma Lenses For Canon Mount
d40 Sigma 18-125mm Canon
I have really wanted to buy a digital SLR camera and lens considering different options. Election of camera is more or less clear – Canon 40D, but it is a difficult goal for me: D40 kit comes with Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM and have a pretty good price now. Only concern is that this goal is not wide enough for APS-C camera as a lens for general use (I'm not looking to buy additional lenses for a while). I found a new Sigma 18-125mm f/3.8-5.6 AF DC OS HSM seems to be more flexible, but there are no decent reviews on it … If someone has this Sigma lens please let me know how well it is working with the body of Canon. If you find any reviews on this Sigma lens form please send links. There are other lenses this series (Canon mount, same focal length range, price category, preferably with image stabilization of) that I could consider?
Currently there is nothing in that range makes Canon. Hopefully there will be soon, since Nikon has a VR-200mm lens out 18. The Sigma lens is fairly new, so it will a little time for real-world tests to come up. My solution is to use the 24-105mm f/4L IS lens. It is not as wide or as much as the Sigma telephoto, but is a little wider than the 28-135mm and a little faster too.
