I have this camera in December 2008 and used it to go well. I love it. Built, designed and made for people who start SLR in the world, but you very far. It has many features that will keep you in suspense for a long period and want to learn more and experience.
If your new digital SLR is the best way forward! Do not go buy a camera from 1500 $ Unless he has received training and experience in photography. This suits their needs and standards of the student ( my opinion) work. He has a big price and is easy to learn. I just read the book a bit, go out and shoot!
Note that your eyes take you beyond the camera, but with a camera support options. If they are good or not the eye of a camera (or other) is not a magic wand, but it will grow as a photographer.
The lens is used is also important! Compare prices, do your research and go to the goal better! Not the most expensive!
I mainly use Sigma! Compared to a Canon camera is no difference in image quality. The only difference in the price.
For price, quality, convenience, and the ability to really grow on the picture of this device will not disappoint.
Canon Rebel XSi – Love this camera!
I waited for many years to buy a digital SLR camera very good, and with this device, the wait was worth it. It is lightweight and easy for a beginner I like to use. At this stage I am still point and shoot "stage of using this device, but ultimately I want to become more refined in my photography. This unit has many bells and whistles that I can do.
Until now, the pictures I took with this camera were fantastic, so I expect very satisfied with this product. I'll be a happy camper when I am able to get a telephoto lens This may be a Christmas present so I'm very good – or perhaps if I'm not!

Is there a significant difference between the lenses of Canon and other objectives 3rd party (Tamron, Sigma, Tokina, etc.)?
I get a new goal to go with my Rebel XSi. I took with the Tamron 70-200 mm f/2.8 and works very well. Never having shot with the Canon lens 70-200 f/2.8 L, but they have studied and I love my new goal. I obviously prefer to spend less, but my real question is whether there a significant difference or significant between the two manufacturers, Price $ 600 or more just for the name. Also, I know that these lenses are not beginners and objective the camera is, but I thought switching to a 50D at some point.
Yes, especially when it comes to the use in Canon EOS cameras – as firmware is introduced, most lenses will be returned to the manufacturer generic generic for an update … in the cost of ownership. They do not buy "the name of" You buy a performance goal in recent decades.
