Does that matter mAh rating when it comes to digital camera battery?

I have a Canon Powershot camera and original photo that accompanies it is 3.7V, 1000 mAh. I ordered one more to carry, just in case, but the one I received was 3.7 V, 1200 mAh. Does the new (that of 1200 mAh) damage my camera or camera charger because it is not identical to the original? If Please advise!

If all other specifications remain the same, more mAh mean greater battery capacity and you could take more pictures with a charging time. You should also consider that the charging time is longer for more mAh battery (not in your case because they are not so different!)
