Canon Powershot A590 Is Digital Camera Price
Which digital camera should I buy?
I’m debating between 3 cameras: Canon powershot A590, Fuji Finepix A820, and Canon powershot SD1000
I know there are other cameras, but I was given the choice between these 3.
Without worrying about the prices, I needed to know which offers the best quality (no blur, better exposre, etc), works well at night, flash is adjustable or automatic. I heard that the SD1000′s quality decreases while zooming in, but i don’t know too well about the other 2.
Any help for any camera will help if you have it. Let me know if you are satisfied or not. Pro and con would be nice too

The Canon A590 hands down if you don’t mind the size. I think the picture quality will be better than the Fuji. I’m EXTREMELY happy with my Canon A640.
The SD series does give up a little zoom and a little picture quality in exchange for the tiny size. Most people agree the larger A series cameras take slightly better photos. Also the SD850 would be more comparable to the A590 in features than the SD1000 (4X optical zoom and image stabilization) and it’s more expensive.
The A series cameras also offer more manual adjustments and the A590 is a brand new model with Canon’s newest special modes. The new aquarium mode looks useful. Aquarium shots can be tough to get with many point-and-shoot cameras.
My next camera will definitely be the Canon A650 after the price comes down a bit… hopefully…

6X optical zoom… 12 MP with a new larger sensor… takes 4 batteries like my A640 which makes them last much longer (cameras that take 2 AA batteries can go through them pretty quickly and be a pain)…. what more could you ask for? It is a little chunky, but I’d be willing to carry it for the better zoom, 12MP and the longer lasting batteries. Five star consumer reviews all the way at Amazon so far…

Canon PowerShot A590 vs. IS Canon PowerShot A720 IS?
I’m in the market for a new digital camera. I don’t want to spend more than $200. After research, I’m definitely either getting the Canon PowerShot A590 IS which is about $153 at Amazon or the Canon PowerShot A720 IS which is about $199 at Amazon.
The A720 has a 6x zoom and the 590 has a 4x zoom. Otherwise, I didn’t see many differences in features. My question is, which one should I buy? Is the 6x zoom worth the price premium? Is the A590 the better bang for the buck? Is there a noticeable difference in photo quality? I don’t know much about cameras. Thanks for any advice!

Get the 720, the extra zoom alone is worth the price difference. I went from 4x zoom to 6x zoom (A710 IS) and have been very happy that I did.
