Canon Powershot G9 Digital Camera Review
Canon Powershot SX100 IS or opinions ..?

Im getting a new digital camera soon, and looked at the SX100 IS. So far all the reviews I've read seems pretty good, I was thinking of the Canon G9, but I think it's a little too "serious" picture of my level at this time. I want to start receive in photography hobby, nothing serious for now .. so what the camera (of any canon or nikon, canon of preference) you think I start on the right track? Thanks

The SX100 IS is a very nice camera. But you should also consider the Canon A650 IS.

If you spend about $ 500 on a Canon PowerShot G9 digital camera and I really detested, she admits to anyone who has lost $ 500? Did you go back to the shop, or simply learn to live with their imperfections? What would you say that learning all the possible problems related to the PowerShot G9, and decide to shop in the first place. This would be my choice. Stay with that thought, to explore some of why buy a camera Canon PowerShot G9 Digital may be a regrettable decision.

Stuck pixels are not a thing experience in a digital camera and the G9 seems to have had an extraordinary career with bad luck stuck pixels. pixels does not mean that one (or several) small dot on the LCD screen or image sensor always leave the same color, regardless of the image of his eyes. It's a dream photographers anal worse. If any of these, you have completed the analysis of all the pictures you take in search of old and new hot pixels. If the problem occurs only with the G9 LCD screen, it is not so bad. The actual images are not affected. If – God forbid – that occurs in the image sensor, every photo taken will be affected. Some people live with it, while others simply return the camera.

Being a 12-megapixel camera may appear large. For others, however there is always the fear that Canon is trying to bring too many pixels as an image sensor too small. This seems to be the case here, and unfortunately, the image noise on the PowerShot G9 is a bit too visible to a camera in this price range. Especially with images taken at higher ISO levels. For 99% of people who buy this product no more than 8 mega pixels is really waste. Unfortunately, consumers have been instructed by the manufacturers to believe that the increase in megapixels, a better camera. In fact, as evidenced by the over-megapixel Canon G9 is actually a mistake.

Another minor inconvenience is the small Canon has chosen to treat. The G-7 had the same problem and, apparently, Canon I thought it was okay. Maybe it's just an aesthetic thing by their designers. For the real world, however, can be a bit boring, especially for those with large hands.

Offences committed by the good folks at Canon are listed below. It may not be sufficient to discuss the PowerShot G9, If you really intend to buy one, but things are still good to know.

– The competition offers a better lens options

– LCD screen has a bluish tint too

– Controls can be difficult to access

– The resistance of the battery is acceptable

– Mount the tripod would have been better

While some will suggest these points aren’t a deal breaker, I might be tempted to agree. It really is a personal choice when it comes to cameras, and everyone needs to decide for themselves. We all take pictures for different reasons, and therefore should buy cameras for different reasons.

What would you recommend Camera – Canon SD870 or Canon G9?

I'm going back and forth between the Canon PowerShot SD870 (8.0 megapixels) and Canon PowerShot Gp (12.1 mega pixels). The price difference is about $ 150 (the G9 is more). I have many photos of children and events family. I also used the images to digital scrapbooking and photo manipulation (collages, etc.), I read many reviews and both seem cameras good – I just wanted to see if anyone out there have opinions (good or bad) in both of the camera. Thank you! I would like some more opinions before make my purchase. I am a very good photographer (in my opinion).

You must have SD 870. Because the Canon G9 is difficult to use if you have no experience in the shooting of the camera.
