What camera should I buy .. a Canon PowerShot SD970 IS and SD980 IS?

I'm looking for a new camera and have been reduced to two guns Powershot cameras. The two look very similar to a price differential in dollars fifty. I do not use a camera that often (children, special occasions etc), but I like having all the bells and whistles in case you decide to become more interested in photography.
