Canon warranty and online registration?

I registered my Canon Powershot SD870 IS the day that I have it. has been broken now, and has been less than a year since I bought it, but i can not find the receipt. in the little booklet that came with my box of canon, which says that if you register the camera is kept model number and date of purchase on file to refer to this information "in the case of an insurance claim for loss or theft." So "I can use this to get the warranty? and how i access my "account" here? The only thing I can do is register, not the access and registered accounts.
